Open vs Enclosed Car Transport: What’s the Difference?

How open car transport works
A vehicle travels on an open transporter rather than inside a covered trailer. It is exposed to normal road and weather conditions during the journey. DMT provides open collection and delivery for private owners, dealers and auction buyers.
The vehicle, its condition and the access at each end still need a suitable loading and handover plan. Discuss low clearance, modifications or owner instructions with Jack before booking.
What enclosed transport means
Enclosed transport uses a covered vehicle or trailer to reduce exposure to the weather and road environment. Some owners, sellers or insurers require that type of service for a particular vehicle.
DMT no longer offers enclosed transport. If covered travel is a requirement, DMT’s current open service will not meet it; arrange a suitable enclosed provider instead.
Choosing a suitable transport arrangement
Start with your vehicle and any requirements set by its owner, seller, manufacturer or insurer. Consider the transport type, loading method, route, dates and the terms that apply rather than choosing on price alone.
