Transporting a Non-Runner: What You Need to Know
Transport for non-running cars starts with their actual condition. Use this guide before arranging a restoration-project, auction or workshop move with Jack.
What we need to know
Explain separately whether the vehicle starts, rolls, steers and brakes. A flat battery, seized wheels and missing components are different loading problems, so describe each accurately.
Send photographs of the vehicle and access, including leaks, damage and loose or missing parts. Include any loading assistance available at the collection point.
Restorations, auction purchases and workshop moves
A project car may be travelling from a seller to a restorer, between workshops or into storage. Give Jack the authorised contacts, site opening times and the condition at the time of collection.
Suitable equipment and a safe loading method must be confirmed before the move. Do not assume that a winch, ramp or trailer is appropriate for every non-running vehicle.
Prepare for the handover
Agree what loose parts can travel, how they will be secured and what paperwork or keys are available. Record the condition with dated photographs and check the terms for the proposed transport.

Tell Jack exactly which wheels are seized and describe the brakes, steering, access and vehicle condition. A suitable loading arrangement must be assessed and confirmed before booking.
Does the car need an engine to be moved?
Missing engines or other major components can affect weight distribution, ground clearance and loading. Send photographs and a full description so Jack can discuss whether the proposed move is suitable.
What photographs should I send for a non-runner quote?
